Hi, I’m Rhian Hegarty – the face behind Touch of Pink Beauty in Hitchin. As a Level 3 qualified beauty therapist with a passion for calm, sensory-friendly treatments, I’ve created a quiet, home-based space where you can fully exhale. Whether you’re neurodivergent, burnt out, or just need a beauty experience that doesn’t feel like a performance, you’re safe here.

Touch of Pink is nestled in peaceful Ninesprings, Hitchin. It’s a private, welcoming salon where overstimulated nervous systems can finally rest. I offer BIAB nails, lash extensions, microblading, reflexology, facials, and holistic beauty treatments—all in an environment designed for calm and care.

Why I Made My Salon Sensory-Friendly

When I opened Touch of Pink Beauty, I knew from the start that it couldn’t be a typical salon.

I’m autistic, and so is my son. We experience the world differently—sounds can be too loud, lights too harsh, smells too strong. Most beauty spaces aren’t made with that in mind. But I didn’t want to mask, and I didn’t want my clients to feel like they had to either.

So I built something softer.

At Touch of Pink, everything is designed with sensory regulation and nervous system support in mind. The space is calm, quiet, and gentle—no loud music, no harsh lighting, no overwhelming buzz. It’s a warm, welcoming salon where you can exhale.

There’s a sensory corner in the room with toys, books, and lights—perfect if you’re bringing a child, or if you need a moment of grounding. I completely understand the need for movement, for stillness, or for something in-between. You won’t be judged here.

We also have our assistance dog, who brings calm energy to the space (and gets lots of love!). And yes—I’m cat mad. There’s always a little cat energy in the room, even if it’s just in the decor.
